By accessing or using The Card API ("the Service"), operated by Thompson Data Products, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Card API provides programmatic access to trading card transaction data, including sale records from eBay, Goldin, Heritage Auctions, and other platforms. The Service is provided for informational and development purposes only and is not intended as financial or investment advice.
You agree not to:
Each pricing tier includes specific limits on daily requests, rows per request, and data lookback windows. These limits are enforced automatically. Exceeding them will result in rate-limit errors (HTTP 429) until the limit resets. Upgrading your plan increases these limits immediately.
Transaction data is provided "as is" from public marketplace sources. While we strive for accuracy and completeness, we make no warranty that the data is error-free, complete, or current. Do not rely solely on this data for financial decisions. We are not responsible for decisions made based on data accessed through the Service.
The compiled database, API design, and associated software are proprietary to Thompson Data Products, LLC. Your API key grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the data for your own applications. No ownership rights are transferred.
We may suspend or revoke your API key immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms. We may also terminate the Service at any time with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your access to the API will cease.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thompson Data Products, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunity. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify active subscribers by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The Service is operated from the United States and is subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. You may not access or use the Service if you are located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country subject to U.S. economic sanctions or trade embargoes, including those administered by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). You also may not use the Service if you appear on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are not located in any such country and are not on any such list.
